Ceramic granite

Production technology

Ceramic granite is produced by mixing various raw materials: clay, sand, feldspar, and water. The ingredients of the future tiles are crushed and thoroughly mixed together, followed by a pressing process at a pressure of 500 kg/ cm2. The finished products are baked once at a temperature of 1300 degrees Celsius. The pattern used to decorate the porcelain stoneware is not a thin layer of enamel, but a stone pattern embedded in the structure of the product.

The prices for porcelain stoneware differ significantly from the cost of ordinary tiles, but the quality indicators of this material are much higher. Due to the baking temperature of ceramic granite products, the components of the mixture literally recrystallize among themselves — not just a tile is created, but a glazed monolithic blank. Later, the product is sanded or polished.

Technical specifications

1. Wear resistance. In other words, resistance to abrasion. The strength of porcelain stoneware is much higher than that of natural stone, so the material will serve as an excellent facade cladding or floor covering in crowded areas. Ceramic granite is bought in bulk by construction companies that carry out projects for the construction of country houses, institutions and public buildings.

2. Frost resistance. Porcelain stoneware has a very low level of moisture absorption — 0.05% (for tiles — 20%) and does not freeze even at temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius. In addition, the absence of excess water is a guarantee that fungi and bacteria will not be able to multiply in your home.

3. Resistance to chemicals and other aggressive substances. Polished material is especially convenient in this regard. Having erased the pollution of any nature from such tiles, after drying you will not even see a trace of stains. As for the porcelain stoneware structure, it will remain intact in any case.

4. Thermal conductivity. Artificial stone has a unique property of retaining heat. And although the prices for porcelain stoneware in Minsk may not seem too profitable, you will save on the use of electricity. How? When creating a Underfloor heating system in your home, use ceramic granite as a floor covering — from the moment the heating is turned off, the tiles will release the accumulated heat for a long time.

5. Environmental friendliness. Porcelain stoneware can be used both outdoors and indoors without any health risks. The natural origin of the material is beyond doubt — it contains only natural ingredients.

Tiles and porcelain stoneware are relatives, not rivals

The answer to the question of which material is better to buy depends on many factors. Ceramic granite is bought, for example, for the construction of a country house. For the cladding of a cottage that should serve the owners for a long time, this solution will be the right one. Well, whether to buy porcelain stoneware as a bedroom floor covering is a controversial issue, because you can do without ordinary tiles. Unlike tiles, porcelain stoneware is a more versatile coating — it is used with equal success for different purposes. pistolo
